Chromecast: How do I play my local tracks?

With Musixmatch and Chromecast, you can you can play your local tracks and take your music experience to another level by casting them to your TV. 

Whenever a Chromecast is detected on the same Wi-Fi network of your device and you are playing music from your local files, the Chromecast icon will show up the top right corner of the player screen.

Chromecast works only for files from your local music library.

Detailed instructions for iOS – After you've set up your Chromecast, here's how you can sing along to your favorite songs using Musixmatch and Chromecast:

  • Connect your device and Chromecast to the same wireless network
  • Open the Musixmatch app
  • Go to 'My Music' and enter the 'Apple Music' section
  • Choose one local track (you can stream songs that are in your device's storage not on your iCloud)
  • Tap on the Cast icon
  • Select your Chromecast from the device list
  • Tap Play
  • Start to sing along!

Tip: On iOS you can use AirPlay mirroring for Spotify or Apple Music to cast on your TV.

  • Connect your device and Chromecast to the same wireless network
  • Open Musixmatch app
  • Select a song, album, or playlist
  • Tap the Cast icon
  • Select your Chromecast from the device list
  • Tap Play
  • Start to sing along! 

Note: FloatingLyrics service is not available on Chromecast.
