Protect your account with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Your password is your first line of defense, but it isn't always enough on its own. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a quick second step when you log in: after entering your password, you confirm it's really you with a short code. That way, even if someone gets hold of your password, your account and all your contributions stay safe.

MFA is optional for Curators, but it takes just a couple of minutes to set up, and we highly recommend it.

Choosing your method
You can receive your code in one of three ways:

  • Authenticator app (recommended): An app like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator generates codes right on your phone. It's our most secure and reliable option, since it works offline, abroad, and anywhere else you might not have signal.

  • Email: We'll send a code to the email address linked to your account.

  • Text message: We'll text a code to your phone number.

Setting it up
To turn on MFA, go to Profile > Manage Account > Privacy > Two-factor authentication. Choose the method you'd like to use and follow the steps on screen. If you go with an authenticator app, you'll just need to scan a QR code with the app and enter the 6-digit code it shows you.

That's all there is to it. You can come back and change your method anytime.
