How to solve issues within the Academy and Curator Test

Most of the issues you may face on the Musixmatch Academy can be solved with a few very simple steps. Make sure you're trying the following for any problem found:

  • Use Google Chrome - the Academy experience is smoothest on the Chrome browser. If you're facing difficulties on other browsers, we'd suggest trying Chrome before progressing with further troubleshooting steps.

  • Refresh the page - sometimes audio extracts may be temporarily lost due to interruptions with the Apple Music source. If a single Refresh doesn't work, you should try a few more

  • Clear your cache - this can help resolve any potential issues coming from Cookie data. Check out this article for a guide. Please note that taking this step will lose your current lesson progress, and so it should only be attempted if you're facing showstopping issues that aren't fixed by the above steps.

  • Try on Incognito mode - this will equally lose your current progress, so should be used only as a last resort.

  • Make sure you have a Spotify Premium connection established and are allowing explicit content within the settings of the account. Some songs used in the test are explicit and will not be possible to play within the tool if you have the 'allow explicit content' setting blocked on Spotify.

Still not fixed?

If your issue is not fixed with the above steps, we'd encourage you to report it in our Community Slack Workspace.

We have a dedicated channel called "tech-support", where you can chat with fellow members of our community and get useful tips and tricks.
