Acknowledgement (ACK) Files

What is an ACK file and where can I find it?

Updated over a week ago

If you have chosen to upload your publishing data via CWR, you will receive an automated email from Musixmatch after each upload. This will notify you of the success of the file ingestion, or alternatively of any errors encountered during the process. We will generate an Acknowledgement file for each submission in your SFTP area.

To access your acknowledgement files, please follow these easy steps:

  1. Connect to Musixmatch's SFTP area via your preferred client;

  2. Access your folder;

  3. Open the existing folder "Acknowledgment";

What is an ACK file?

ACK files are automated response files confirming the receipt and processing status of your submitted data. They indicate whether your submission was successfully processed or if any errors occurred.

Where can I find the ACK file?

In your folder within our SFTP area, you will now find a new "Acknowledgment" folder. After each catalogue update via CWR, you’ll receive an email confirming the submission’s reception and the creation of a corresponding ACK file. You can then log in to the SFTP area to review any potential errors or simply confirm that everything went through smoothly.

If you do not remember how to access your SFTP area, please refer to this article.

Who will receive these notifications?

All team members with access to the Musixmatch for Publishers platform will receive these submission notifications. However, only users with SFTP access credentials will be able to download and review the ACK files.

If you cannot access your sftp area anymore, or you have not received your ACK notification, please contact publishers-support@musixmatch.com.
