To ensure artist profiles are only managed by verified and authorized individuals, Musixmatch does not allow multiple claims on the same artist once they’ve been verified.
If you're trying to claim an artist and receive a message that the artist has already been claimed, here are the most common reasons — and what you can do next:
1. The artist has been claimed by a colleague or labelmate
If you work at a label or are part of a team, it's possible that someone else in your organization has already claimed the artist.
✅ What to do: If you're on a Musixmatch Pro Plan for Labels, you can request access through your team’s shared roster via our workgroup features.
2. You used a different login method when originally claiming the artist
This is a common issue. Logging in with Google, Facebook, or Apple — even using the same email — creates separate Musixmatch accounts.
✅ What to do: Try logging in using the method you originally used to claim the artist.
3. Another band member or representative has already claimed the artist
If the artist is part of a band or group, another member or authorized representative may have already completed the verification process.
✅ What to do: Reach out to your bandmate or representative and ask them to add you to the artist's team if needed.
