This is because Musixmatch locks certain lyrics in order to ensure their quality remains high. Lyrics are locked according to the status of the account that added them; the more experience and success a contributor has in the community, the stronger their 'locking' powers will be.

➤ The internal team of administrators at Musixmatch has added lyrics themselves, or edited lyrics previously contributed by the community.

➤ Lyrics Curators and the wider community are locked from editing the lyrics.

➤ Lyrics Curators and the wider community are free to sync and translate the song.

➤ Artists are able to edit their own lyrics via the Musixmatch Pro.

➤ A Lyrics Curator appointed via Musixmatch has added lyrics or edited lyrics previously contributed by the community.

➤ Other Specialists and Musixmatch administrators are able to edit the contributions

➤ Users from the wider community and other Curators are unable to edit the lyrics, but are able to sync and translate them.

➤ Artists are able to edit their own lyrics via the Musixmatch Pro.

➤ The member of the wider community has added and verified the lyrics.

➤ Other community members will only be able to edit these lyrics if they have more contributing rights than the previous editor.
